July 23, 2013 No Comments

Linda Dombrovska, 23 years old Public Relations and Advertising Management student from Latvia, in June, 2011 came to Italy for participate in European Voluntary Service in Euroform RFS. Now, one year has flown away and Linda is going back to Latvia.

“It’s incredible, how fast time can pass by. My EVS project in Italy is already finished. I’m going home full of experience and emotions.

My choice, to intermit the university, quit work, leave my family, friends andusual lifestyle and come to Italy, was the best decision.  During these 12 months, I have got an unique experience.

I was working in Euroform RFS, where I could put into practice my knowledge and skills, linked with media and communication, improve languages and creativity, acquaint with the officework, get a chance to take a part in different processes of labor and learn a lot of new things! This project alluded to my possibilitiesand competences for the future.

Living away from home, I challenged myself, acquired to be flexible and adapt in various situations. I  learned Italian language, met a lot of warm-hearted people, made friendships and traveled… while I was living in Cosenza, I visited 46 cities and villages in Italy, among them – Roma, Florence, Naples, Palermo, Catania, Etna, Syracuse, Tropea, Cefalu; as well as Valencia and Barcelona in Spain and  Paris in France.

I strongly recommend young people to participate in EVS, because it’s a great experience in different fields. It’s a chance to get involved in real processes of multicultural learning, make up your mind and attain skills for your personal and professional development.

Good luck!”

My travelling story

Unbelievably that already five months have been past in Italy and a lot of exciting things have been done!  I am not only working here, also I’ve an opportunity to travel and see a lot.

Traveling to some places where I’ve not been before is one of my favorite things to do.  I love the feeling of detrain or deplane in a new place and to discover what makes it so special.  There’s something exciting about the unknown, and something even more exciting about leavens, thoughts and feelings after the trip.

Thanks to summer holidays, I visited Roma, a large part of South Italy, Sicily and even Valencia in Spain.  Some days in October, I spent in Paris enjoying the beauty of autumn there.

At this time I’ve been thinking – how does Malta looks in the spring time? If there will be a possibility, I would like to fulfill one of my wish again and go there for a couple of days.  For me traveling is like dependence, I want to see more and more. Luckily, I can do that! Now, in autumn almost every weekend I’m going somewhere around South Italy.  I’ve visited Bari, Sibari, Tropea, Scilla, Pizzo, Sila, Reggio Calabria, Paola, Capo Vaticano, Napoli, Amantea… Every time I’m surprised how amazing places in Italy are, how different they are and how cheerful I’m that I’m here.

P.S.  I hope sooner or later, Cosenza Train Station will give me a client „Gold card”! J

Ciao,

Linda

About project

Welcome Party

During my EVS I was working in a training agency Euroform RFS, what is operating in the vocational guidance and training field in Calabria Region, Rende.   Euroform RFS services and activities are backed up by the active participation of an international network of qualified organizations, and they are designed to satisfy the needs of a wide range of organizations, from public to private organizations, from small to medium size companies.

My role in organization was to help as much as it possible to all members of Euroform. I had   multifarious tasks: I was making different kind of databases, supplementing information, creating posters and informative reports, doing translations and   taking a part in all processes, what are related with different kind of projects.

Euroform Team

This project alluded to my possibilities and competences for the future. Living away from home, I challenged myself, acquired to be flexible and adapt in various situations. I learned Italian language, got new technical skills, competence in office work and I put into practice my knowledge, linked with media and communication. I got feelings of Italian culture and traditions. I’m sure this experience will help me in the future.

I strongly recommend young people to participate in EVS, because it’s a great experience in different fields. It’s a chance to get involved in real processes of multicultural learning, make up your mind and attain skills for your personal and professional development.

Good bye Linda
